Dipper Death

Dipper paced in the kitchen, his mind thick with stress.

“I can’t fight Robbie … He’ll destroy me!” Dipper said to himself. “But … I have to. If I don’t, who knows what Robbie will do to me? What if Wendy thinks I’m a big wimp? I have to do this, I have to be tough.”

“..I’m just gonna rest my mind, and play some videogames.” Dipper decided, and cruised over to his game machine. Right when he was about to punch in START on the console, he caught a quick glance at the clock. 2:53 PM. His eyes widened, but then his expression turned solemn. “It is time,” he sighed. He turned away from the console, and took in a deep breath. Dipper began walking towards the exit, his feet dragging as he walked. He passed Mabel. “Wish me luck.” he sighed.

Mabel frowned. “You’re gonna go?”

“I have to. Or else Wendy will think I’m a big chicken.”

Mabel cracked a smile. “You really do looooovvveee herrr!”

“Yeah, yeah, whatever.” he rolled his eyes, but couldn’t hide his blush. He then walked up to the door, reaching out and grabbing the knob. Dipper slowly turned it, hearing the click as the door gradually opened. He closed the door behind him as he stepped outside, gulping in fear. He took a few steps before he was suddenly greeted with a quite unwelcoming face.

“Huh, so you managed to actually come?” Robbie sneered. “I thought you’d chicken out.”

Dipper stood up straight, determined not to show his fear to Robbie. “W-Well, I didn’t.”

“You came for a fight, so a fight is what you’re gonna get.” Robbie growled, raising his clenched fist.

Dipper silently squeaked in fear as the fist swung towards him. He quickly skidded out of the way, the punch just missing him. Robbie stumbled, his punch missing Dipper. Dipper took advantage of this moment, so he began frantically scanning the ground. He soon spotted a good-sized rock, and he clamped his fingers down onto it. Dipper stood back up straight, and in a strong swinging motion,, he sent the rock flying, and then the rock hit Robbie directly in the back of the head.

Robbie gasped in surprise, and clutched the back of his head with his hands. “Hey, kid! That hurt!”

Dipper smiled slightly. “That was kinda the point.” he replied cockily. He immediately registered that was a bad thing to say as Robbie lifted his hands from his own head, and began charging towards Dipper. Dipper was rooted in place by terror, Robbie approaching closer with every passing second.

Robbie lurched forwards, and snagged Dipper’s shirt collar. He pulled Dipper off the ground by his shirt, and swung him backwards. Then he swung him forwards, letting go, and sent Dipper soaring through the air. He crashed onto the long, metal garbage box.

Dipper gasped sharply in pain as he slammed into the garbage box. He slid off, hitting the floor. Dipper groaned, a small trickle of crimson blood running from his mouth.

He squirmed in fear as Robbie approached him. Dipper was about to get up and flee, when Robbie suddenly delivered a sharp kick to his chest. Dipper gasped in pain, falling back down onto the ground. He swallowed in a deep breath of air, then suddenly felt a blossom of agony in his lungs. He started drawing in quick, fast breaths, not wanting to experience the pain again. Dipper squeezed his eyes shut, letting out a few wheezing coughs.

“You gonna give up, kid?” Robbie sneered, Dipper coughing as scarlett drops of blood.

‘I … I can’t give up now.’ Dipper thought. “N-No.” he stammered out, shaking his head.

Robbie raised an eyebrow. “Well, alright then.” He built up all his strength, then delivered a few more quick kicks to Dipper’s side and chest. “Give up now?”

Dipper tried to ignore the agonizing pain and keep his dignity, so he shook his head.

Robbie threw his arms up in the air, frustrated. “Really? You’re gonna try and piss me off?” he growled.

Dipper didn’t answer, the pain becoming unbearable. ‘I think I should give up ... Just … I don’t want to get more hurt …’ Before he could finish his thinking, Robbie lurched forwards, standing over Dipper. He grabbed Dipper’s head in one hand. Dipper looked up at Robbie with fearful, sad eyes, scared for what Robbie was going to do. Suddenly, Robbie’s fist slugged powerfully onto the bottom of Dipper’s jaw. His head abruptly jerked upwards, the quick movement snapping his neck. Dipper gasped in pain, the agony sweeping over him. He then began to feel the pain subsiding, his body feeling as light as soft downy feathers. Dipper’s fear and pain transitioned to a state of relaxed content as old memories flooded through him.

The dirt around him shifted into sand, and he found himself holding a shovel and pail, a very young Mabel digging in the sand beside him. The sand then faded, it being replaced by classroom desks, and the shovel in his hand turned into a pencil. Mabel looked a bit older, and instead of digging, she was holding up a messy craft made out of construction paper. Then, they were in the living room of their own house, the pencils turning into game controllers as he and an older looking Mabel competitively played video games. Then they were back in the classroom, but a more complicated array of math problems were scattered on the whiteboard, and older Mabel furiously scribbling down notes. The classroom slowly transitioned to the upstairs attic of the Mystery Shack, where the two were ready for bed. Him and Mabel were snuggled up under the covers, ready for sleep. The peaceful memory then faded out to the present. Dipper, through weary eyes, looking up at the panicking Robbie. He realized that Mabel was always with him, but now he was alone …

Dipper’s eyes slowly shut, his senses fading to darkness as he gave out his last breath. He was alone, without his sister, without his soulmate. All alone, as the darkness engulfed the body of a boy who died too young.
